Good that you ask about this traditional brand!
In the 1980's it was one of the big brands in Germany along with Chiquita, Dole, Del Monte and Bonita.
In Frankfurt there was a huge 1x1 logo at the central wholesale market ( the historic building is now the base of the European Central Bank skyscraper )
The brand itself was founded in 1942 and 1x1 banana labels are dating back to the late 1960's.
It used to belong to the Scipio Group, a banana importing pioneer from Bremen ( founded 1902 ) which later united several german banana Importers and also introduced Chiquita bananas to Germany in 1967.
The Scipio Group was later known as Atlanta Group and was a big player in the fruit business in Germany.
Since 2002 Atlanta was taken over by Univeg, which now is called Greenyard Foods.
So in short: the company is now Greenyard, but there are more than 120 years of banana history behind the 1x1 brand, which makes this label so special.
As this brand is often found in Germany, I would suggest to check out the boxes. Maybe there is a hint to find out the company.

Found yesterday in supermarket TEGUT on bananas
Found this one today at supermarket ALDI in Frankfurt on bananas. It takes exactly 2 month when a label is shown by someone of our friends in EC and to find it in a fruit shop here in Germany.
